"If I started blogging today I would….”

If I started blogging today I would.... stop stressing over what I think others would think about my blog post for that particular day.

When I started blogging, it was strictly for fun, but then I joined the 2012 Blogathon and then all of a sudden I was being put to the test...  first, could I blog for all 31 days of the month of May?  Secondly, what would I blog about that would be accepted by others?  Sure, people blog about their husbands, their children, their work life, their hobbies, their vacations, etc...  but I am a little different.  I think differently than most, many would say "I think out in left field" because of what I do and what I am.  I post my blog posts to my Facebook page as well daily, so my friends if they choose, can read what that days post was about.  All of my friends on Facebook know that I'm a psychic/medium as I post about the various happenings in my house.  But joining a blogathon was going to be a challenge.  Would I be accepted for who I am and what I write?  At first it really mattered to me, but now 23 days into the challenge, I've changed my way of thinking.  It doesn't matter if I'm accepted or not, I hope my followers enjoy my writings, but at the end of the day, if I'm happy with my blog post, then I'm happy.  I won't allow the anxiety that was once a part of my blogging, be a part of it anymore.

Until next time....

  1. I understand that feeling sweetie. I rarely have anyone comment on my blog, and it does feel especially nice when they do, but I don't feel anxious about it anymore either. I think after time, it just becomes par for the course. :)

    1. I love it when someone comments on one of my blog posts, but I'm getting better at just blogging what I feel inside rather than what I think others want me to blog about. I'm not fake, so this is me, take me or leave me... I think things will be easier once the blogathon is over because then I won't have to blog every day and then the blog posts will just come a little more natural. :-)

  2. Good for you! You know, there are so many blogs that seem like carbon copies of each other out there...it's nice to come upon one that's completely different! So don't worry about whether people will accept you. If you put yourself out there with no apologies, the right people will come to you. It's all about believing in who you are and what you do. If you believe in you, others will too! :-)

I'm so glad you linked up at my hop and said hello over at KarmaBloggers! I follow a lot of blogs, and many are quite a lot alike, so when I see something new my antennae perk up and I pay attention!

I enjoyed reading your post about the polar bear, too, by the way. I had toyed with the idea of doing a meditation to find my animal spirit guide a while ago, but I never went through with it. I think it's because I don't feel naturally drawn to one particular animal like a lot of people do. I like all different animals for all different reasons...I don't necessarily resonate spiritually with any of them though. Could orchids be my spirit guide? LOL I'm totally OBSESSED with them and have over 20 in my house. Caring for them is like meditation for me. :-)

Anyway, I've now written a ridiculously long comment...LOL! It's nice to meet you, and thanks again for linking up at the hop! I'm following!

    1. Hi Jenn,
Yes, orchids are a form of nature and most definitely could be a spirit guide for you. You can talk to plants, trees, weeds, etc... they are all apart of Mother Nature and all have energy. I have several animals that I am drawn to, the owl being one, along with the deer/fawn and polar bear - there are others, but the owl means that one can see what others can not. (like me being a psychic/medium) Also owls stay awake at night and keep watch over their people while they are sleeping as opposed to the eagle or hawk that goes down at night for rest. Some people feel the owl is a dark creature, but I absolutely love them. I go to the wildlife sanctuary to go visit them on a regular basis when the weather is nice out. I could watch the owls for hours. :-)
Thank you also for showing me that I should allow myself to be shown in my blog posts, I'm definitely not your typical blogger, I blog about so many different things, it's whatever tickles my tummy at the time. I'm glad you found my blog to be unique! That means a lot to me!!
Thanks for commenting! Have a wonderful day!!

    1. Hi Maribel~
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yep, I've been a medium for 29 years and love it! Tomorrow's post is about my childhood, which wasn't the best, I was teased a lot and considered a nerd, so I wrote about that for tomorrow. Hope you'll stop by! I have a cute picture at the top of the post. :-)

  4. Hi Mimi! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for the follow. I am now your newest follower on GFC and am looking forward to connecting with you. I have to say that as someone who just started my blog rather recently, i totally understand your feelings on acceptance. In the beginning I would always compare myself to other mom bloggers like myself and worry if my i could really write what i wanted to without being judged. Then i just came to the realization that it's MY blog, MY life, and if someone doesnt like it well they dont have to read it :) Write whatever you are passionate about and what makes you happy. Most importantly write for YOU!

    1. Thanks for following me! I appreciate it! I totally agree with you about the "writing what will be accepted by others" and just going with my gut. I've always been worried about being accepted for who I am, but I am finally coming around and just being happy with who I am. I'm sure you saw that I blog about a variety of things, so no one ever knows what to expect from me day to day. Tomorrow I didn't know what I write, so I wrote about my cats "the 2 ladies & their feller". Then Sunday's post is in honor of my parents wedding anniversary - they are both deceased, so this means a lot to me. :-)
